Early wake up this morning, sheep, van doors and people coming to visit the waterfalls at 6:40am…are they nuts? There’s only one 6:40 in the day for us 😂
Drove up to the Quiraing car park again, but this time, without the fog, we could see that there was actually parking for motorhomes after all – just past the main car park.
Guy’s old workmate Jim and his wife Alexandra came up to meet us and very kindly took Guy for a scary hike…the one I’d said I definitely wasn’t doing two days ago! 😂 I’d decided to research this one and I’m glad I did as it defo wasn’t for me.
The Quiraing is an ancient landslide along the Trotternish Ridge with a narrow path running along the escarpment. It was a 3-4 hour hike but they seemed to be back in no time. I’d had a wander around the viewpoint and got enough signal to ‘phone a friend’, played all the seventies music Guy hates, a bit of cleaning and they were back – wet through. The weather has a habit of changing very quickly here.
Had a great afternoon drinking coffee & swapping travel stories, although ours are a bit tame compared to their wild adventures. Guy then went to take a last photo and found a girls rucksack -full of camera equipment, purse, cards etc. Couldn’t find anyone looking for it ..all a bit strange. We’ve tried to contact her through social media but no joy so it looks like we’ll be taking a long trip to the police station tomorrow.

Our trusty parking spot at Kilt Rock was full of motorhomes. Thinking we’d better not make the situation worse, we’ve driven down the road a bit and found another. On a bit of a slope but the view…wow!
