Guy was up at 5am with Rufus who was behaving like he might be poorly so he was taken out for mini walk. He was ok and then all parties went back to sleep and snored loudly (apart from me who was then wide awake)! Set off for a small harbour town called Jablanac, just up the coast. Had to park in front of what we hoped were holiday apartments not in use. The place was so tiny, with just a one-way road through it, we had no choice really. It started to rain and got steadily heavier as we walked around the coastal path to a beautiful cove called Zavratnica. The whole place was deserted, except for the one man asleep in his ticket booth who managed to instantly wake up and charge us £2 each to get in. “You can swim if you like!” he said, gleefully. Would’ve been so lovely in the sunshine. On the way back, I spotted another snake …only about a foot long luckily, as there wasn’t much room for manoeuvre on the path!
The rain carried on and we drove on further to Senj. Parked in the port with our front end facing the sea – feels like we’re on a boat. It definitely will if the Bura wind starts later! 🌪
Had a drink in the town. Guy’s a bit unimpressed – say’s it’s got a good road out!! We’ve just discovered the leisure battery isn’t charging – got deja vue. Worse still, it’s not charging when we switch the engine on – so no hot water. Campsite tomorrow so we can plug into the mains & see what happens.
