Woke up quite late for some reason – it was already very warm so we decided on a pre-breakfast swim…a first for me! Quite invigorating, might make it a thing! Just having breakfast when a man galloped past on a horse with a pony following…wondered if I was hallucinating but Guy has photographic evidence!

Driving down the last ‘finger’ of the Peloponnese, we came first to Koróni. Tried to drive in to find parking but when a local says “don’t do it, it’s too narrow” we know it’s time to turn around!

Managed to park on the roadside just outside and walked in. It’s a pretty looking place with a citadel at one end. A few little shops – I tried to find some replacement sandals as the strap has broken on mine so I cut it off. Flip-flopping around isn’t working well for me as I can trip over my own shadow! All too expensive – they ‘saw me coming’!
We did splash out on a spinach and feta pastry for lunch though. Sat and ate them by the sea just before all the grease soaked through the brown paper bag. 😂

Drove on to Finikounda, but it had a big resort feel to it and no real parking for motorhomes, so we carried on.

Now in Methoni which is much nicer. We spent the afternoon looking around its massive Venetian fortress. Amazing place right on the sea.
Back at the van, having walked five miles, (that’s a first in Greece, it must be getting cooler) we topped it off with another swim. Ionian Sea this time!
