There was no rain forecast overnight, but it tipped it down. Being parked on a beach, there’s always that worry that you might sink into the wet sand and not be able to get out. 😬Fortunately, by morning, it had all dried up and the sun was out. We think our new dog friend had slept under the van all night!

We set off for the little fishing village of Kotronas, where we’ve parked in the past on an extra wide jetty. After negotiating a route around a static donkey, the road down to the village was in a shocking state – I think the rain had washed half of it away as it was barely passable. All worth it in the end though, this is such a great place and we’ve had a fab day in the sunshine.

Had a coffee in the local taverna and a walk round to the little island which is connected to the mainland by a strip of big pebbles. It’s all very pretty, but there were huge crickets or locusts (not sure which) flying around everywhere, so I beat a hasty retreat as they’re defo not my favourite thing. 😬

Back on the jetty, we got the chairs out and sat in the sun – lovely.

Evening now, and we’re sat in the van listening to the weird howling of golden jackals. We’ve come to recognise the sound as we’ve heard them twice in the past on the Peljesac peninsula in Croatia. Ain’t wildlife great …as long as it’s not insect based. 😂
