We were woken at ten past five this morning by the local loon returning home to our scruffy dirty campsite. I think our German neighbour went out to him to try and quieten him down and give him some water. Said neighbour left before us this morning. Looking round at the campsite in the cool light of day, I don’t think it would be allowed to remain open if it were in England. Thank God we are self contained! We set off for Burgau passing through Luz along the the way. Burgau turned out to be really beautiful and unspoilt. We had a walk along the beach, but sadly, there was nowhere to park other than the side of the road. We carried on and arrived at Praia da Boca do Rio where there was loads of parking and motorhomes welcome. We spent the afternoon on a fab beach with Rufus pushing us off our towels at every opportunity! As soon as it reaches 4pm, it turns really cold so we came back the 100 yards to the van, put warmer clothes on, then went a walk up a hillside at the side of the beach. Good views at the top and it looked like you could walk to the next village, but we didn’t want to come back in the dark….our eyesight is not that good now we are pensioners. 😂 Guy went to take a video of the sun going down but unfortunately it won’t upload. He did get some good photos of the stars later though. Not much of a connection out here so this may not upload either and as we reach the furthest point west before turning north we might even be off grid for a couple of days…shock, horror – get the Scrabble out!
