After last nights news about quarantine, we decided to do a runner to Germany. Originally planned to head for the French Alps but the area was becoming another hotspot. Been reading up on government info and it seems we can transit France, Belgium etc as long as we don’t get out the van and interact with anyone. Things could change again anyway by the time we head home.
It had cooled down lots and was pouring with rain as we drove over the Vosges and through Colmar. Stopped for lunch just after crossing the Rhine to enter Germany. Then, the sun came out again and the heat was instant.
Parked next to the Rhine with a few other motorhomes, picnickers, and fishermen. Went for a walk over the hydroelectric dam, which took us back into France. Quite interesting, it had a salmon ladder like the one in Norway. Once the mosquitoes discovered us, it was time to head back.

Now listening to the dulcet tones of the German all night fishermen….one of them is definitely Herr Flick!
