Milfontes to Alcacer do Sal

Packed everything away this morning and left without a single rattle from any of the cupboards – must be getting good at this game! Also got to use the campsites pay as you go vacuum cleaner on the way out. One euro – 4 minutes …I usually get bored with it after 4 minutes anyway. 😂 Forgot to mention yesterday that while Guy was out on his bike he came across five farmers butchering a whole pig 🐖 on a table at the side of the road – he’s not that struck on pork, otherwise I think he may have treated them to his hungry face! Back to today. We have come to a small town called Alcacer do Sal, which is inland just south of Lisbon. Quite a picturesque place, bit crumbly in places. We walked over the river and up to the castle to see the views over the paddy fields and hopefully some storks nests …just a couple at the church. We had a drink by the river and Rufus sat happily with his bowl of water ….it was the threat of Ebay last night that’s made him reconsider his behaviour. 4:30 it turned really cold as usual so we came back to the car park and have tucked ourselves away for the night.💤
