Milford Haven

Wasn’t intending to pack so much in today but half of our travelling around was just trying to find somewhere to stay overnight.

Parked down on the waterfront in Milford Haven then went to meet Guy’s former work colleague, Martin and his wife, Michelle. Had a lovely late lunch in the Welsh Bakery. I had a Toddi Tad which was a ham, mustard and cheese toastie, topped with cheese sauce…I could have had a fried egg on top which would have made it a Toddi Mam but I think my arteries would have shut down 😂 As they say round here though “it was bloody lovely mind”.

The high street in Milford Haven had a few colourful characters on it and was a bit like Arnold on a bad day 😬

Moved on late afternoon and drove through some very narrow lanes to a headland overlooking Skomer Island. The wind and driving rain came back with a vengeance as we walked up the hill to look for stray puffins. Didn’t see any, but we did see and hear, three seals on the beach below.

No overnight parking again – even though car park nearly empty. Daft thing is we would happily have paid a tenner – would’ve gone to the National Trust. Why not a sign like others have that says overnight for one night only?

Moving on. More narrow lanes then finished up at beautiful Newgale Beach. Loads of parking overlooking the sea but same old overnight signs. Fortunately, there’s a campsite here too. Very busy but they had space….and relax.🍷🍷🍷
