Hope you’ve enjoyed the radio silence for the last few days. I think we’ve inadvertently had a ‘proper holiday’ and writing ‘We went to the beach and had a swim’ every day gets a bit boring, plus I don’t think I could stop myself gossiping about the inmates which isn’t very nice really. 😬
We decided to move on today as Guy had a dentist appointment in Palafrugell and it made sense if we had to move the van anyway. The cracked tooth wasn’t cracked after all, but such a different experience here in Spain. Beautiful, modern and spotlessly clean clinic. Investigation and Xray £26! Prescription for Ibuprofen and Amoxicillin £3. Can’t fault it!
Off up to Girona next, just for a visit to the Espai Girones shopping centre at Salt. Got some early birthday sandals as mine are falling apart …oh and a jumper!
It was incredibly hot in the city – around 30°C and we’ve become very used to having a fan running on electricity, so we made a sharp exit. Good job really as Guy’s tolerance for shopping is around an hour – and that’s on a good day!
Now in a little town called Peralada, which is just past Figueres. There’s a free motorhome site here and it’s almost full! As we drove into one of the last places, a German man asked if we could swap as he couldn’t get his satellite dish up under the trees!🙄 “What make is your dish?” … ”No idea, we’ve come to see the town”.
Although, it’s a lovely medieval old town, it was pretty dead apart from a coach load of people on a walking tour. We thought the castle might be good, but it seemed to be part casino, part restaurant. Loads of storks and parakeets around though and a beautiful pink sunset – we can tell that we’re near the bay of Roses.
Although we’ve loved our two weeks in our favourite place, we’re glad we’ve moved – after a while in the motorhome, it kind of feels like we’re wasting time if we don’t go and see something new.
