We’re off the Peloponnese now and back on the mainland. It’s cost us a whopping €21 to come over the bridge but I suppose it is nearly 3km long and the alternative is to drive back to Corinth.

Not much sun today and a spot of rain in the night so we decided to do a bit of driving. Coming up the coast, it all seemed quite flat and there wasn’t really anywhere of interest to stop.

Arkoüdhi was looking promising with its views over to Zante but the town was dead really apart from a few comatose people on sunbeds.

Next was Pátra, the big city glistening white in the sunshine. Unfortunately, every single Park4Night place had comments about break-ins, so we came straight over the fantastic bridge and turned east to Náfpaktos.

Quite a picturesque little place, with a lovely harbour and views back across to the bridge and the Peloponnese.

I’ve got another birthday present from Guy now – a sink plunger! It was €3 from a hardware shop. The shopkeeper didn’t speak English so Guy drew him a picture. He was delighted to produce first the plunger bit then the handle – red or blue. He fitted the two together and did a great demonstration where the handle fell off. It was well worth the money though for the comedic value. 😂

Back at the van, it’s very windy and people are walking around in coats and trousers. It’s a bit of an abrupt change for us – the duvet has been re-instated!
