We’ve been parked between road and beach just outside the town for two nights. The first one was horrendous with kids sat on a bench nearby for hours tapping on metal lampposts and eventually knocking on the window. We ignored them as long as possible but eventually Guy had to show them his angry eyes 👀! They soon skulked off, only to be replaced with a bit of motorbike racing. 🙄

Ordinarily, we would have moved on the next day but we liked the town and wanted to be somewhere with a bit of life for my birthday.

We had a nice walk up to the castle Saturday morning- great views from the top. The temperature was just about perfect at 25 degrees.

A swim in the afternoon and then a meal out in the busy town at night. Perhaps shouldn’t have rounded it off with Ouzo after Aperol and white wine but when in Greece…

Last night was just as noisy even without the kids outside. At one point Guy’s snoring was competing loudly with an idling motorbike at the back of us. 😂

Today, Sunday, we’ve come up the coast past Mesolóngi, some salt flats, and then over a dodgy detour where a bridge had collapsed. Stopped in Astakós for lunch but we didn’t have a great feeling about it so carried on.

Parked on a pebble beach now near the little harbour town of Mytikas. After a short swim we’ve decided this here Ionian Sea is not as warm as the Med!
