OMG 😮It was sooo cold this mornIng. We’d managed to get three red lights on the control panel. Run out of fresh water, grey water tank needed emptying and the leisure battery didn’t have enough power left to give us heating or hot water 😢😱….oh and a red light on the toilet cassette! We (Guy) worked out that because we’ve only been doing small journeys, the battery hasn’t had enough time to charge properly. Couple that with the fact that there don’t seem to be any proper services for motorhomes in Portugal (water/draIn etc) and you can see why this happened. Even at garages when you fill up with diesel they don’t like you using the water. Anyway, we somehow got dressed in multi layers and set off for a campsite at Vila Nova de Milfontes. Along the way, as we warmed up, we decided to de-tour to Cabo Sardao to see the view from the lighthouse. We drove miles down a long dusty pot holed road. Found a lighthouse in the middle of nowhere and ….a football pitch! Bit random 😂 Not a great view, so we carried on to Almograve and stopped for coffee. Fantastic views from here. On to the campsite at Milfontes and sorted the water etc out. Had lunch then walked down to a vast beach with a really calm stretch of sea. Can still see waves crashing in the distance but seems to be quite a sheltered spot. Quite a nice clean looking town but most places are closed for the winter. Hoping to get some washing done whist we are here but I haven’t seen any washing machines yet which is a bit worrying. There’s far too much to do by hand.
