A bit of faffing around this morning as we had to drive back towards Preveza for a Lidl shop. A road closure caused us to do a trip around the houses.

Didn’t really need groceries, but we needed to get some kind of disinfectant for the smelly drain – there’s no real solution to it in hot weather, other than to keep it drained and rinsed out, which we try to do. Anyway, Dettol laundry sanitiser was on offer for €3 so we decided to try that. Smells quite nice normally, but Guy tipped the whole bottle down the plug holes and nearly killed us by chemical inhalation. Sloshed around whilst driving, it seems to have done the trick for now.
Drove up to Parga, making very sure we kept to the road at the back of town rather than trying to drive through it, like last time!
A less than warm welcome at Camping Valtos – “Have you made a reservation?’ Didn’t even dream of that – it’s the middle of October! A man came to find us a place, looking around his own campsite as if he’d never seen it before! 🤣
There were about ten spaces available but by evening it was nearly full.

The resort of Parga is a very picturesque place, with little islands and colourful houses. Unbelievably, it’s still busy even at this time of year, when half the shops and restaurants have closed for winter.
We walked up to the castle and down through the narrow streets into the town, all the way to the end and then back again. Recovered on the beach, then had a swim. Sadly, I have to report that today, that sea was cold!
