Short drive today. Just down the coast a little into Puglia. Skirted round a couple of lakes and landed here in Peschici…it’s very nice! There’s an old whitewashed town on top of a hill, very green backdrop and a long sandy beach. We decided to have a few days rest from driving so we’re on a campsite. Usual cat problem and even a couple of stray dogs wandering round. Rufus is fine when he’s asleep – we’ve put the awning up. However, once he’s awake, all hell breaks loose as he bolts after every passing feline. They haven’t thrown us out yet – so far, so good! Guy went for a bike ride and scared himself to death on the hills. It’s reasonably cool so we had a walk up to the town. All seemed deserted at first but then as we reached the top every man and his dog was out – all dressed in their finery. Every generation wandering up and down, talking, looking at the view, eating ice creams and drinking coffee. We had a drink and did a people watch (feeling rather scruffy)for a little while before walking back down at twice the speed we went up!
