Well, we abandoned the idea of walking into Burgos this morning as it was really cold and pouring with rain. Thought we’d just drive south for a couple of hours and it might warm up. No chance.
Parked just outside Salamanca for lunch. This town has become a bit of an old favourite..it’s so beautiful, even on a miserable day like today.

We crossed the 400 metres long, old Roman bridge and then walked up past the massive cathedral, eventually reaching the Plaza Mayor. This grand square is an absolute knockout when you first walk into it. Almost enclosed on all four sides by a four storey high building with arches on the ground floor and decorative balconies above, you can imagine it when bullfights were staged here.

As it’s also a university town, the place is buzzing even on a rainy day.
Still cold, we made our way back to the van and did another hour driving south. The skies turned black, snow on the mountains, and then some more of the torrential stuff – mainly on the plain of course.

Parked in a little motorhome aire in the town of Baños de Montemayor. Spaces are marked out for four motorhomes but one person has decided to take up two spaces …it has caused chaos but been fun to watch. 🤣
