Short, straight drive this morning after cleaning out the grey water tank, which involves Guy jetting water down the plug holes with a hosepipe …it’s a glamorous life!
As we passed the old bridge at the end of the town, we were amazed to see a whole river full of water underneath it! Last night it was totally dry, so there has to be a working dam somewhere.
Made our way down to the coast at the Ambracian Gulf where there’s a series of causeways that you can drive across. Some bird life here including flamingos, also, (rumour has it) pelicans, turtles and dolphins.
We’ve parked just off the tiny island of Koronisia, on a causeway, with a beach and flat calm sea facing us and a huge lagoon behind us.

It’s beautiful – reminds us of the Scilly Isles. Little blue and white buildings dotted here and there, islands and mountains around.
Lots of wild flowers out too, considering the time of year.

Still warm enough to swim although a lot of seaweed in places. Lazed around on the beach then went for a walk late afternoon. Got ‘attacked’ by a dog that came at us out of nowhere like a bullet. He turned out to be a puppy wanting to play but I wasn’t too happy having his teeth around me! He then accompanied us nearly all the way back, just happily trotting along grateful for company.
A local man told us he bought food for him and he did have a collar on so someone must own him. The same man asked Guy if he’d taken a photo of the big fish and then proceeded to take us on a tour of the fish farm. We certainly heard them slapping around but didn’t see any. They seem to have a kind of gate system that works with the tide and traps fish in a huge area until they grow to ‘restaurant’ size!

Staying here tonight, it’s very peaceful!
