A trip back to Kalamata today. We thought we’d go back to see the nice chap that sold us some really good olive oil last year.

Parking was a bit technical as there was a full on outdoor market today. If only we’d known – the produce looked great, but we’d just called at Lidl along the way. The shop we were looking for was in the permanent covered part of the central market. Got greeted like old friends – we can’t believe this man remembered us from a quiet afternoon last September. He even remembered which olive oil we bought last time. Got given a shot of some strong liqueur, introduced to his wife and then plied with olives and tapenade. Bought some more oil and then he gave us a bottle of wine!

There’s not a lot to see in Kalamata, so we started trundling down the coast road towards Koroni. Pulled in at Petalidi for late lunch when we got hit by a thunderstorm. As we’d got a good flat parking spot, we decided to stay here.

Had a little walk into the town then came back and discovered the freezer door was jammed. The catch is broken and the only Motorhome dealer in Greece seems to be a shoe shop called Camper in Athens! 😂The magnet will hold the door closed whilst we are still but I think gaffer tape might have to be employed if we move. Either that, or, we stay here for six days and eat the contents!
