Sure enough, the cruise shippers woke us up at 8am as they disembarked and went off in different directions on coaches, trains, in cars, and even by horse and cart.

We did an exciting tour of Lidl and then followed the main road up towards the big white city of Pátra. We’ve never parked here as all the reviews on the Park4Night app seem to have a theme of break-ins and theft. Carried on along what is the north coast of the Peloponnese or, I suppose you could also call it the southern rim of the Gulf of Kórinthos. Either way, despite the stunning scenery (reminds us of Lake Garda), we’ve spent all afternoon trying to find somewhere decent to park and missed the best part of the sunshine. 🙄

Eventually we got a spot on a nice pebble beach near the town of Aigio. Went for a walk, and of course, the sky turned black and it started to rain. Dodged into a bar (purely to save the camera from getting soaked 😉) ordered a drink, and the waiter said “do you want meze with that?’ Ah, go on then, why not? I’m not sure what I was expecting for 4 euros but it certainly wasn’t a plate of chips with various barbecued meats and sausage! 😂 🙄 No dinner required then!
Had a walk around the nature reserve and then sat on the beach until an arctic blast of wind came, followed by a bit of rain, followed by a beautiful sunset! It’s four seasons in one day around these parts!
