Nobody can tell us to ‘go to hell’ now, ‘cos we’ve already been! 😂 Just a little place called Hell north of Trondheim with a nice railway station – had to stop for a photo though. Apparently, the town’s name means ‘prosperity’ in Norwegian – you need some of that in this country! On the way out we saw the consequences of a fire when your house is made of wood – must’ve been horrific.
We wasted what was a warm and sunny morning in a shopping centre in Stjørdal. Guy was dreaming his way around a camera shop…”all tax free – you claim it back – it’s a bargain” – yeah, yeah, yeah. “Let’s go to Vinmonopolet and see if we can get tax back on the wine!” We bought all of two bottles after seeing the price and now we daren’t open it because ‘when it’s gone, it’s gone!!’😂
By the time we got into Trondheim, having gone round in ever decreasing circles, the heavens opened. Didn’t take an umbrella, so we ran into a cafe. Probably, the worst coffee we’ve ever had! Trondheim was lovely though, especially all the wooden buildings along the river. It was full of students and felt very lively, which made a nice change from the other towns we’ve seen. Hope you can all see the difference in the photographs with Guy’s latest tax free purchase – don’t worry, he’s selling the other lens! (….or his bike maybe???🙄😂)

On the way out, we were on a motorway and it was so strange to be in traffic and also to be in a built up area for any length of time. We came back out to the coast but have really struggled to find parking. We’ve ended up in the carpark of a shopping complex. 🙄
